He has served as Director of the Spanish Data Protection Agency, Vice Chairman of the European Group of Data Protection Authorities and Founding President of the Iberoamerican Data Protection Network.
Permanent Member and President of the Section of Public Law of the General Codification Commission. Member of the Legal Committee of the General Council of Spanish Lawyers. Vice President of the Knowledge and Information Technologies and Law Commission of the Royal.

Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation. He was awarded the San Raimundo de Peñafort Cross.
Author of many publications on Public Law (he has recently directed the monograph Reglamento General de Protección de Datos. Hacia un nuevo modelo europeo de privacidad [General Data Protection Regulation. Towards a New European Model of Privacy], Ed. Reus, 2016).

Lead investigator of several international research projects on data protection.

Georgios Yannopoulos

Assοciate Professor for IT Law and Legal Informatics and Director of the Laboratory of Law and Informatics, University of Athens

Georgios Yannopoulos, is Assοciate Professor for IT Law and Legal Informatics at the School of Law, University of Athens. Since 2015 he directs the Laboratory of Law and Informatics. Georgios has studied law (LLB) at the University of Athens and has a PhD from the University of London, where he has also taught and conducted post-doctoral research. In addition, he has professional qualifications in computer programming and system analysis.

He is interested in all aspects of the interaction of law with technology and he is involved in numerous projects, among other, regarding Legal Information Systems, Internet Law and Regulation, Cybersecurity, Electronic Signatures and Integrity of Transactions over the Internet, Privacy and Secrecy of Communications, Data Protection, AI and Law and the Protection of Intellectual Property. He is admitted to the Athens Bar Association.

Maria da Graça Canto Moniz

Guest Assistant Professor at Nova School of Law and Assistant Professor at Lusofona University, Lisbon

Graça Canto Moniz holds a PhD in data protection law from Nova School of Law. During her research she was a visiting researcher at Georgetown University (USA) and at Tilburg University (The Netherlands). In 2017 she co-founded and since then coordinates the Observatory of Personal Data Protection at Nova School of Law while also teaching Public Law (Constitutional and Administrative Law) at Lusófona University. She is also Head of Privacy at FUTURA a consulting boutique focused on the digital transformation of public and private sector organizations.

Vincenzo Zeno Zencovich

Full professor of Comparative Law, University of RomaTre

Vincenzo Zeno- Zencovich is full professor of Comparative Law at the University of Roma Tre where he teaches Comparative Legal Systems and EU Transport Law. He is also the Director of the “Studying Law at Roma Tre” programme.
He has received degrees in Political Sciences and in Law from the University of Rome La Sapienza and has studied in the USA (Harvard Law School) and in England (Cambridge University).

After having taught in the Universities of Genoa, Sassari and Cagliari, he has joined the Law Department of the University of Roma Tre in 1999. He has been visiting professor in numerous European and north-American universities.

From 2012 to 2015 he has been Rector of the Rome University for International Studies (UNINT)

He is, since 2013, Chairman of the Italian Association of Comparative Law (AIDC).
A significant part of his publications (which consist in over forty volumes as author or editor, and over 250 articles in law reviews and books) is devoted to the legal aspects of ICT, including two extensive commentaries on Italian privacy laws, a handbook on telecoms law and another on media law. He is one the editors of the main Italian media and communications law review, Il diritto dell’informazione e dell’informatica, and on the editorial board of several other reviews.

He has been advisor to the Italian government in the third and fourth GSM operator tenders, and in the 3G, 4G and 5G spectrum auctions, and has been extensively involved in the activities of the Italian telecommunications regulatory authority and of the Italian Ministry of communications.

He is member of the supervisory committee and of the board of several foundations engaged in the study of legal and economic aspects of the media, of ICT, and of communications.

From 2018 he is a member of the independent ICT Authority of the Republic of San Marino.
As a practising lawyer he has successfully litigated in landmark cases in damages for defamation, same-sex marriage, consumer protection, tobacco litigation and liability of providers.

Scientific Coordinator of the Google Chair on Privacy, Society and Innovation of CEU San Pablo University from 2012 to 2021.

Ph.D. in Law from the University of Montreal and Doctor of Law from the University Paris II Panthéon-Assas (Sorbonne Universités) with Cum Laude distinction by unanimous decision.

LL.M., Master on IT Law from the University of Montreal. Law graduate from the Autónoma University of Madrid.
Member of the Illustrious Bar Association of the Autonomous Community of Madrid. She was awarded a “La Caixa” Foundation Scholarship for postgraduate studies.

For years, she has been working in the area related to the right to the protection of personal data in the university sphere as well as in the consultancy and teaching fields for both the private and the public sector at an international level.

She has participated in numerous conferences and has written several publications regarding IT Law, Privacy, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Cyberjustice and Personal Data Protection, among others.

Research Associate in the Cyberjustice Laboratory and in the LexUM Chair on Legal Information of the University of Montreal. Coordinator of the legal review “Cuadernos de la Cátedra”.
