Biography

Graça Canto Moniz holds a PhD in data protection law from Nova School of Law. During her research she was a visiting researcher at Georgetown University (USA) and at Tilburg University (The Netherlands). In 2017 she co-founded and since then coordinates the Observatory of Personal Data Protection at Nova School of Law while also teaching Public Law (Constitutional and Administrative Law) at Lusófona University. She is also Head of Privacy at FUTURA a consulting boutique focused on the digital transformation of public and private sector organizations.

The South EU Google Data Governance Chair focuses on scientific reflection and research in the academic field on Data Governance in the context of European countries. The Chair analyzes the challenges of Law and Data Governance in areas such as Big Data, Data Driven Innovation, Artificial Intelligence and International Flows of Personal Data.
